Lazy Day Sunday

Sundays are meant for sleeping in, brunching, girl chat and shopping. This Sunday I plan on grabbing brunch at Bubby's in Tribeca for some delicious pancakes, reading the NY Times and thrifting in the village. In addition to my lazy day Sunday, I also plan on checking out Ebay for some great finds to add to my wardrobe. I've had my eye on a Phillip Lim cardigan and a pair of Michael Kors boots for the past week now. Hopefully with the listing ending tonight, I can officially call the goods mine. Be sure to check out AllocationsNYC  for your Ebay finds this Sunday. Happy shopping on this Sunday:)

Iris Apfel

"If your hair is done properly and you have good shoes on, you can get away with anything", so are the words of Iris Apfel. Mrs. Apfel is a fashion icon, and being so, has been celebrated by the Met, FIT, and Mac cosmetics. She has and always will be an original by all standards. As the week comes to a close, I wanted to join in the praises of Iris Apfel. Getting ready this Friday night for the night out I put together my outfit Iris Apfel style; with lots of flair, lots of style and lots of jewelry.

How to Be Parisian

How to Be Parisian? The book, written by the ever so chic Caroline de Maigret found its way into every home of every fashionista. The book defines what it means to have that Parisian cool and sense of style. While I have never been a Francophile, I still yearn for the lightness of the Parisian girls. The ones you see in the thirft stores in the East Village, perusing the Balmain and Chloe while carelessly wearing their mother's Chanel handbags. Anyway, the closest I get to being Parisian is wearing Parsian brands. This week on Allocations.NYC, we are listing the goods of Isabel Marant, Chloe, and Iro. So while your next trip to the city of lights may not be for another few years, you can at least channel the style and chicness that makes Paris what it is.

No matter where you are going, what you are doing or what type of even it may be, the LBD is the answer to all the ultimate questions: "What should I wear". This week on AllocationsNYC, the LBD is being celebrated by offering you several options on this classic silhouette. Choose a fit'n'flare, skater or fitted silhouette. You can't go wrong!

Fringe is In

In honor of NYFW, I wanted to celebrate the return of fringe. Fringe is in, and I am ready to embrace this wonderful trend and pay homage to the designers who so happily brought back these swinging details to the runway. Yes, we can thank YSL, Gucci and Ralph Lauren as pioneers of fringe and send them our gratuity as we don this fun look. However, I would like to take it back to Fall 2010, when Blumarine took to the runway with the fringe look and won over the hearts of all women. Fortunately, not only is fringe great for the spring, but there are many pieces to choose from. I personally am embracing this Blumarine Leather Jacket with fringe ( on sale now at AllocationsNYC). As style.com wrote on the Blumarine collection. "It's for the kind of girl a man wants to follow in the street". If that isn't saying something for the girls of New York City, I am not sure what will.

Tight Kicks

'
Tight kicks are my jam. I love a fashionable sneaker that works with a Chanel bag and a Uniqlo puffer. Nothing says city cool than a pair of awesome sneakers. Its no wonder Isabel Marant brought back the wedge sneaker some odd years ago. Its stylish comfort, which is more than I can say for a pair of heeled boots in this ridiculously cold weather. On AllocationsNYC listed is a pair of awesome Pierre Balmain Lexis sneakers. Ya know, the ones rocked by Rihanna and endorsed by Mr. West ( all opionis of Kanye aside, these are awesome kicks). If the Balmain sneakers are a bit too glam for you in all their black patent glory, check out the New Nike Premium Rose Gold Mid Blazers. On sale at Barneys right now! Don't worry, they are sold out there, but you can grab them on the ebay Store. It's just a click away!

Resort

Resort is a great time of the year. Who doesn't love landing in a warm location, escaping the cold, dreary city? I especially love resort because it means resort wear. Brightly colored silks, exotic skin sandals and fancy sunnies always put me in a good mood. I especially love putting together my "North South" look. This look comprises of donning an ensemble that can take you from the cold to the warm just by removing one piece of your look. This week on AllocationsNYC there are some exciting resort listings that will take you straight to the islands. Check them out on AllocationsNYC.

Winter Woes No More

I love a good boot. They can really make or break an outfit.

Now a Boot Story: While standing in line in Starbucks a young girl hushed to her friend a comment about a pair of boots I was wearing. Looking down, I noticed her gray, worn sneakers were no match to my Joan & David black booties with a stacked heel. My boots paired with a skinny jean and cable knit sweater just looked smart. Smarter than her sneaks at least. Word to the wise, when in doubt, no matter the occasion, throw on a good boot. I promise, it makes a world of a difference. Check out new boot listings on AllocationsNYC on Ebay.

Closet Counts

On this addition of Closet Counts, we go inside the closet of Allocations founder and owner, Samantha. Filled with high end labels like Stella McCartney and Chloe mixed with street brands like Free People and Jcrew, she certainly favors the feminine juxtaposed with edgy street style. "Shopping is by far my favorite activity, which is why my style is all over the place", says the New Yorker. We had the privilege to sort through this overflowing closet and check out some of her awesome pieces that she is listing on her Ebay store. Some of her goodies could be yours! Trending: The Grace Kelly Loafer

I love a good loafer. Channeling an old school glamazon like Audrey Hepburn or Grace Kelly has always appealed to me. It just seems so stylish to throw on a pair and head out the door. Whether it is a smoking slipper, driving moccasin or men's oxford, the loafer will take you wherever you need to go. Check out AllocationsNYC listings for your loafer needs.
